🎣 Fishing Report Update – Mahoning Area 🎣
Crappie:
Crappie have moved shallow with a lot of fish being caught in 3–5 ft of water around trees and cover. Best baits have been live minnows, Bobby Garlands, and Crappie Magnets.
White Bass:
White bass have been active in the Mahoning River near Alliance. Anglers are catching fish using rooster tails, minnows, twister tails, and Gulp Minnows.
Wipers:
Wipers have been really good lately with a lot of reports coming from Walborn Reservoir and the southwest corner of Berlin Lake. Fish have been caught on chicken liver along with 3–4 inch paddletail swimbaits.
Walleye:
Not a ton of reports yet, but the few fish being caught have been coming from flats in 6–10 ft of water. This bite should start heating up soon. Best methods so far have been jigs tipped with crawlers or minnows, along with trolling Flicker Shads and Flicker Minnows.
Catfish:
Catfish have been caught all over Walborn, Deer Creek, and Berlin. Best areas have been near bridges and deep drop-offs. Top baits so far have been shad, nightcrawlers, chicken liver, and shrimp.
