Walleye: The Walleye bite has slowed, but anglers are still landing some nice fish on the north end of Berlin Lake, particularly around the Railroad Bridge and north of Route 224. Successful techniques include casting vibes and trolling with Flicker Shads, Flicker Minnows, and Hot 'n Tot lures. Crawler harnesses have also proven effective for some anglers.
Crappie: Crappie fishing has been very good recently, especially in the Green Bower area. Anglers are having success with twister tails, Bobby Garlands, and live minnows. Night fishing reports are still coming in from the Railroad Bridge, indicating that Crappie are active after dark.
Catfish: Catfish have been active at Berlin Lake, Walborn, and Deer Creek, with the 14 Bridge and Route 224 emerging as good spots recently. Anglers are reporting success using chicken liver, shrimp, large nightcrawlers, and artificial catfish bait.
Wipers: A few Wipers have been caught in Deer Creek and the southwest corner of Berlin Lake, with anglers finding success using spinner baits, chicken liver, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. With all the recent heavy rain, the best luck should be at the deer creek spillway, as the wipers come in there to feed on shad after heavy rainfall.
