Fishing Report 8/11/23

Berlin Lake's current levels are 1018.19 with the max Summer pool being around 1024.  This is definitely still low, but we've seen a bit of improvement in the last 2 weeks with some of the rain we have had.

Because of this, the most popular spot has been the area in and around the Greenbower and Rockhill bridges.  There have been crappie, some pike, catfish, and bluegill, all caught in the last week in that area.  Lots of variety, and lots of different baits that have been successful.  2" Mister Twister Tails and nightcrawlers have been the most popular baits in the area.

The 224 bridge has held some crappie in the early morning and late evenings and most of those fish are being caught on small minnows or 1/16 oz jigged rigged with 2" soft plastics.

If you are looking for catfish, the 14 bridge has produced a bunch of catfish caught on Frozen shad and shrimp in the past week.

Lake Erie

Erie, as always, has been excellent.  Most of our customers are running spoons off of Dipsy Divers, with the vast majority of them choosing Badmo spoons over Stingers, but Stingers also have been productive. Customers are also running some Bomber B24s on wire and pulling some nice walleye as well.

Most of our customers are fishing Geneva/Ashtabula but we have a few who are fishing West of us and are doing well on perch on sabiki rigs and Rapala Jiggin' Raps.
