Fishing Report 8/1/2025

Fishing Report – August 1, 2025

The summer bite is still going strong, and anglers are seeing some solid action across the area!

Crappie – Crappie fishing has stayed productive, especially around bridges, docks, and deeper drop-offs. Soft plastics like Panfish Assassins and Bobby Garlands are doing the trick, and live minnows have been a top producer for those fishing slower or at night. These fish are moving a bit deeper, so don’t be afraid to adjust your depth and try different presentations.

Walleye – Walleye have been caught trolling near the railroad bridge and around the 224 bridge at Berlin. Anglers are having success using Hot N Tots, Flicker Shads, and Bandit Walleye Shads. Some are also finding fish by casting Vibes or working jigs tipped with crawlers along the edges and drop-offs.

Catfish – The catfish bite remains hot across the region. We’re hearing great reports coming in from Walborn and Deer Creek, especially near the park areas. Baits like chicken liver, shrimp, nightcrawlers, and artificial catfish baits are all producing. Whether you’re fishing from the bank or a boat, it’s a great time to target cats.
