Walleye:
The walleye action has slowed somewhat, but there are still opportunities for anglers around the Railroad Bridge and the dam at Berlin. While some are having success casting vibes, most are continuing to troll with familiar baits such as Bandit Lures, Flicker Minnows, Flicker Shad, and Hot n' Tots.
Crappie:
Crappie have been active near shaded areas like bridges and docks, with depths ranging from 10 to 16 feet yielding the best results recently. To hook these fish, use soft plastics such as Panfish Assassins, Bobby Garlands, and Twister Tails on a 1/16 oz jig head. Nighttime fishing at the Railroad Bridge has also still been producing fish, with live minnows being most effective after dark. Greenbower has been the best spot to fish for crappie in the past week.
Catfish:
Catfish are being caught in various locations, with a notable number coming from the 14 Bridge at Berlin. Other hot spots include areas off Price Street at Berlin, Deer Creek, and Walborn. For the best chance to catch them, try using chicken liver, large nightcrawlers, shrimp, or artificial catfish bait.
Wipers:
Wiper activity has diminished, but those still being caught are hitting on chicken liver, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. After heavy rainfall, target the Deer Creek spillways, where these fish are known to gather.
Lake Erie Walleye:
Most walleye in Lake Erie are being caught using Stinger and Badmo spoons with Dipsy or Jet Divers. Crankbaits like Bandits and Berkley Deep Hit Sticks are also still effective when ran with snap weights or lead core line. Reports are mostly coming from the Cleveland area and eastward, with many larger fish being found in deeper waters (65+ feet), some are being caught in upwards of 75 FOW. However, there have also been numerous reports in shallower water near 40-45 FOW.
