Thanks to Adam Farnell for sending in this photo of this walleye he caught on Berlin this week!
Walleye fishing in Berlin has been excellent, with the Ohio Walleye Federation tournament on Saturday and Sunday seeing bags of well over 30 pounds including a 54 pound bag! The winning angler averaged over 5 pounds a walleye.
Walleye were caught in and around banks points close to the railroad trestle as well as near the dam at the North end of the lake. Jigging Raps were a popular bait in deeper water and Flicker Minnows and Flicker Shads trolled in shallow water were also very productive. Jigs and nightcrawlers also took some fish, with most of them being smaller sized.
Crappie- Being caught in shallow water around structure. Target them on small crappie jigs tipped with crappie nibbles, also being caught on small minnows
Catfish- Being caught along the 14 bridge at berlin, Dams, and along the shores of Deer Creek and Walborn. Caught on shrimp, shad, and night crawlers.
