Fishing Report 6/24/22

Fishing from has been slower this week with the recent uptick in water temperature close to shore.  However, anglers from boats have been doing just fine and anglers fishing in the evening have done very well also.

Catfish-  Catfishing has been excellent as they tend to thrive in the higher water temperatures.  Target the 224 bridge or 14 bridge if fishing from shore and target them with shad, squid, shrimp, or nightcrawlers.  Keep in mind that catfish do not sit on the bottom at this time of the year as there is no oxygen on the bottom of the lake.  Target them with slip bobbers suspended about 3-5 feet off the bottom for best results.

Crappie-  Crappie fishing in Berlin has produced plenty of fish, with most of them between 8-10".  The 224 bridge and railroad trestle have been the best spots.  Jigs fished very slowly tipped with maggots or Berkley Powerbait Crappie Nibbles have been some of the best baits this week.

Walleye-  Walleye are being caught trolling in the late mornings and early evenings on Berlin.  Target them with Flicker Minnows and Flicker Shads in Size 5 or size 6 in Red or Purple Colors and look for them North of the 224 bridge or in areas of 15-20' depth.
