Fishing Report 6/22/23

Fishing Report 6/22/23

Fishing has been consistent with the stable weather we have had with a few changes revolving around the moon phase early this week.

Crappie-  Crappie have been a little more difficult to get from shore as the fish have been moving a bit deeper, but can be found near structure and bridges.  Target fish about 8-15 feet of water with 1/16oz jigs and Panfish Assassins or Bobby Garland straight tail minnows.  Tip your jigs with maggots for better success.

Walleye-  On Berlin, trolling baits have been producing walleye consistently, but a few anglers are also catching walleye in muddy/shallow water on cloudy days on live bait jigs as well.  Target them with #5/#6 Flicker Shads in darker colors in 10-16 feet of water or with nightcrawler harnesses with snap weights.

Catfish-  The catfish bite has only gotten better in the past week with all of our stable weather.  Target catfish with live shiners/crayfish, frozen shad, or shrimp from both shore or a boat.  Fishing near the Route 14 bridge on Berlin has been productive as well as most shore fishing spots in the SW corner of the lake.

Thanks to Marshall for these awesome pics of all the big catfish he has been catching!  Nice work Marshall!
