Fishing Report 4/25/2025

Walleye:
Reports have been light this week, with just a few walleye still hanging around the Milton Spillway. Expect these fish to begin moving into the shallows and around the willow-covered areas as water temps warm. Anglers have had the best luck using live bait jigs tipped with large nightcrawlers or minnows. If you're targeting shallow walleye, don't overlook Flicker Shads—they’ve been productive when fish are pushed up tight to the banks.

Crappie:
Crappie fishing remains steady. Most fish are being caught in shallow structure, but look for them to move even shallower in the coming days as spawning patterns kick in. Soft plastics that imitate baitfish, like Panfish Assassins or Bobby Garlands, fished under a float, have been putting fish in the boat. Live minnows are also working well, especially for less aggressive fish.

White Bass:
White bass are starting to show up in the rivers and around Greenbower. These aggressive fish are hitting Rooster Tails and small soft plastics like Bobby Garlands or Panfish Assassins. Look for active schools near current seams and creek mouths.

Wipers (Hybrid Striped Bass):
Wipers have been caught recently at Walborn, Deer Creek, and Berlin. Anglers are hooking into them using 3–4" swimbaits and chicken liver. Focus on areas with current or structure near open water transitions.

Catfish:
Catfish action has been consistent across the board. Fish are biting well on nightcrawlers, chicken liver, and shrimp. Shore anglers and boaters alike are finding success, especially during the warmer parts of the day and into the evening.
