Fishing Report 4/11/2025

Walleye

Walleye are still being caught consistently at the Milton Spillway and also in the Mahoning River near Alliance. Productive baits include Jiggin’ Raps, VibE’s, crankbaits, and twister tails on 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig heads. Look for them around current seams and deeper pockets.

Crappie

Crappie are showing up around Greenbower, Walborn Reservoir, and the southwest corner of Berlin Lake, especially near the Deer Creek Spillway. Anglers are finding success with small jigs like Panfish Assassins and Combat Jigs, and live minnows are also doing the trick.

Wipers

The SW corner of Berlin Lake has been hot for Wipers, with plenty of fish being caught on 3.5–4" swimbaits like Keitechs and Crush City Mayors rigged on 1/4 oz swimbait heads. Brighter colors have been producing the most action.

White Bass

White Bass have started their run into the Mahoning River. Target them with twister tails, rooster tails, Bobby Garlands, and Panfish Assassins. Live bait like minnows is also working well for these aggressive springtime feeders.

Catfish

Catfish have been mixed in at all of the spots that crappie have been caught. They have been caught on the same jigs and minnows. However the chance at bigger ones would come from large nightcrawlers and bagged catfish bait. Starting Monday 4/14 we will have frozen shad, shrimp, chicken liver, cobb mullet, and squid. These all do great for catfish.
