8/13/21 Lake Erie Fishing Report

Lake Erie Fishing Report:

Happy weekend! We have had some heat, humidity and thunderstorms this week which have been a bit of a damper on fishing, but anglers have still been out on the water and able to get some bites and here is what we have heard:

Reports out of Erie are of smaller fish being caught closer to shore in shallow water. Limits have been reached but you will have to wade through smaller fish. Bigger fish can be found in deeper waters. This will be a trend that should continue through September, when the fish migrate into shallow waters as the water temperatures drop in the fall.

Reports out of Cleveland are bigger fish being found farther offshore in 45-55 feet of water, with fish suspended in 40-50 feet. Popular bait is Badmo spoons or Stinger spoons behind Dipsy Divers, or darker colored bandits (a good bet would be using custom colored black/purple) run off of wire line.

We have heard reports of big bites and bigger fish in the Conneaut/Geneva/Ashtabula area farther offshore as well. Anglers have done well in 68-74 feet of water with the fish suspending 5-10 feet off the bottom. Popular bait has been shallow Bandit Walleye Deeps in dark colors behind Dipsy Divers or BadMo spoons off of Dipsy Divers in purple and dark blue or pink colors.

Good luck this weekend! Send your report or pictures to info@talltalestackle.com or tag us on Instagram @talltalestackle.
