7/9/21 Lake Erie Fishing Report

Lake Erie Fishing Report:

It’s another great weekend to be out on the water fishing! Here is the chatter as we know it:

Walleye fishing has been excellent, and should continue into the weekend. We are hearing similar reports as last weekend: large numbers of undersized Walleye are being caught, with the best fishing northeast of Kelleys Island and near the Vermilion Weather Buoy, and also nearshore off Huron and Vermilion in 16-22 feet of water. In the Cleveland area, the popular bait has been Erie Dearies in 25 feet of water while casting and spoons while trolling. In Ashtabula, the popular bait has been spoons on dipsy divers.

Largemouth Bass have been popular in nearshore areas, especially near structure, including breakwalls. The bait of choice has been spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and soft plastic presentations.

Channel Catfish have still been doing well at Sandusky Bay, with large numbers and size of Catfish. Bait of choice has remained shrimp fished on a Carolina rig.

Lake water temps are as follows…Toledo at 72°, Cleveland at 67°, and Erie at 67°.

Make sure to stop on out at the shop and see us this weekend before you head out on the water! Send us your fishing reports and pics to info@talltalestackle.com.
