Berlin Lake Area Fishing Report:
It should be another great weekend for fishing, besides a chance of rain on Sunday. Here is what we have heard in the shop:
The water level at Berlin continues to sit a little above normal at 0.51 feet above the usual water level at the end of July. The water temp is 68.72°, with the buoy temp at a foot below the surface of 76.97°.
Walleye are still plentiful and we have gotten reports of great fishing done while trolling north of 224 at 2mph. The fish have been best caught in 13-16 feet of water, and the popular bait is still a size 7 Shad, as well as size 7 & 9 Flicker Minnows.
Hybrid Striped Bass have also been caught lately in Berlin and Walborn on chicken liver. Check out the attached picture of a customer who caught a 9.65 lb whopper!
You can still catch crappie under the 14 bridge on minnows. Stop in with your buckets and stock up before heading out!
We have also gotten reports of Catfish being caught from the shore at all of the local lakes. Take your pick and make sure to use nightcrawlers and shrimp for best results.
There have been plenty of large fish caught lately by our customers, so get out on the water and stop in with your catch to be featured next week! Or send us your report and pictures to info@talltalestackle.com or tag us on Instagram @talltalestackle.
