7/2/21 Berlin Lake Area Fishing Report

Berlin Area Fishing Report:

Happy first weekend in July, and an early happy Fourth of July! It will be a great weekend to get out on the water and here is the low down on the fishing as we know it:

The water level at Berlin continues to hold at just under the norm for this time of year at -0.03 feet and the water temp is 70.34°, with a buoy temp at 1 foot below the surface of 81.33°.

Walleye fishing continues to be excellent, with most fish being caught while trolling Berkley Flicker Shads and Berkley Flicker Minnows in sizes 5 & 7. To optimize your luck, look for fish just north of the 224 causeway in 10-18 feet of water.

With the heat we have had this past week, Crappie fishing has slowed; but fish have been found near structure in both Deer Creek and Walborn. Anglers have had luck fishing from boats and from the shore in 12-13 feet of water.

We are hearing some reports of Wipers being caught near the Walborn Dam on chicken liver, nightcrawlers and 4” Twister Tails. And as a courtesy of all the rain we have had the past few days, Wipers should be showing up near the Deer Creek Spillway, as soon as this weekend.

As always, stop in the shop and let us know how your weekend of fishing is going or send in your report and any pictures of your catches to info@talltalestackle.com. Enjoy your Fourth of July and God Bless the USA!
