With the warmer and more stable weather we have had the fishing has been excellent since late Monday afternoon.
White bass- Limits of white bass have been caught almost every day this week so far and should continue as we still have only seen a few females being caught. Rooster Tails have been by far the most popular bait, but Road Runners have also done very well. White has been the preferred color preference.
Crappie- The crappie fishing has been much improved over the last few weeks and we saw a few limits this week from both Deer Creek and Berlin. They are being caught in very shallow water (2-5ft deep) and in bushes/trees. Primarily they are being caught on 1/32 and 1/16 oz jigs on white grubs tipped with maggots. Minnows have done ok, but not nearly as well as jigs/maggots.
Walleye- We have yet to hear about many walleye being caught in Berlin on the jig and nightcrawler bite. We expect them to begin once we have some stable warm weather (which could be as early as this weekend). Target them with Fireball/Live Bait jigs tipped with nightcrawlers or leeches.
