3/24/23 Fishing Report

Go get your walleye!

This will be one of the last weekends to target walleye from shore! The spawn has been going strong for just over a week and it usually lasts anywhere from 2-4 weeks, weather depending.  We don't you to miss out.

Walleye

Most of our anglers catching fish at the 224 Bridge on Berlin or the West Branch dam are reporting that there is no one else at the location but the fish are rolling and they are catching up to 1-3 fish in a few hours of fishing.  Primarily anglers are using Shallow Flicker Shads, Husky Jerks, Rippin Raps, and VibEs.

Crappie

Most of the crappie we are hearing of being caught have been smaller fish coming from Deer Creek but the fishing should begin to improve as the weather gets warmer over the next few days.  Don't forget to check our Calendar of Events for details on our Crappie Tournament next weekend!

Musky

Musky have been in and around the walleye spawning at the West Branch dam.  We are hearing of some hook ups and a handful of fish landed with most of them following baits or pulling off as anglers are targeting walleye.  This is one of the only times of the year to get musky from shore.  Target them with shallow diving stickbaits and jerkbaits (similar or larger to the baits you are using to target walleye).
