3/11/22 Fishing Report

Good Morning!

Here's what we are hearing!

Walleye

The Walleye run is just starting!   We are hearing of a few coming out of the Mahoning in Alliance (closer to the dam has been better) and there were some caught before all the rain we just experienced near the Milton Spillway.

For the Alliance section, try dark colored 3" Grubs and Gulp Minnows.  For the Milton section, use VibE's and Jigging Raps.

We are also hearing of some walleye being caught in Berlin near the dam in the electric only area that are being vertically jigged in deeper water 30-45'.

Pictured on the report is Edwin Gould and Jody Dowler with some nice walleye from the Ohio river!  These were caught on big swimbaits.  Beautiful fish!

Wipers

Wipers are being reported caught near both the Deer Creek Spillway and the Walborn dam on 3-4" Gulp swimbaits and 4" Twister Tails.

Crappie

Crappie fishing has been slow with most of the fish being reported coming from Walborn being small and fishing being slow.

Perch

Perch fishing near the Lake Milton Spillway has been good with fishing better the farther you get from the dam due to the water flow.  Most anglers are using red worms and dug worms under a float.
