Good morning everyone!
With the rough conditions last week, most of our data was limited, but we did get some solid reports out of Ashtabula and Conneaut. We only have two reports out of Cleveland, they were both very thorough and used very similar baits to get their limits (Purple, black, pink, and orange). One steelie was reported caught about every 3 limits.
The hot baits for the week continue to be Badmo spoons, but they only barely outsold the Stingers this week, and the Scorpions far outsold the larger sized spoons. The hottest colors will be listed below under the applicable region.
In solid 4 footers, 3 man limit. 58-60 feet of water – 10 fish. 62 feet -8 fish.
This Badmo took most of the fish in 58-60:
In 62 feet, fish were caught on these:
Conneaut is finally starting to see some decent perch. We had a few reports come in in that said they limited out after getting their walleye tickets. They ranged from 2-4 man tickets. Most were caught on jigging raps just off the bottom, or emeralds/minnows about 4 feet off the bottom.
The walleye fishing in Conneaut was also good with anglers seeking 70′ of water before finding good fishing. Fish were suspending in about 50-55′ of water and most of the fish were caught on Spoons or Spoon Harnesses.
Hot colors are below:
The same locations that have been hot in the last few weeks were still holding fish in the past few days. 02 or 03 line; 71-74 feet of water. Purple/Black/Pink. Most of the reports from those who got out, said it was rough, but fish were still caught. Small spoons and Badmos produced best here.
Looks like the NOAA forecast says its going to be better than the last few weeks. We hope ya’ll can go out and get some fish!
