I will apologize in advance for how short this week’s report is. We received our live bait vending machine yesterday and have been scrambling to get it secured, configured and up and running, so I haven’t had as much time this week to dedicate to creating the report. Next week we should be back to our old reports!
1) BadMo Spoons (outsold Stinger 13 to 1 this week)- Purple Haze, ROYGBIV, Flamethrower
2) Bandit Generators -Sandstorm, Spill
3) Scorpion Spoon Harnesses (Any Purple or Orange front and Copper Back-Kevorkian, Helmut, Blueberry Muffin, Monkey Puke, etc)
4) Stinger Spoons – Kevorkian, Watermelon (copper), OPS, Sweet Grapes, Sour Grapes
5) Dreamweaver Wormburners (All melon colors)
Out of Cleveland, Conneaut, Geneva, and Ashtabula, Cleveland seems to be the most difficult to pull fish, and most of the fish we are hearing that are coming out of Cleveland, seem to be smaller. That being said, there are still fish there, just be prepared to work harder and fish as deep as you can get to safely as most of the bigger fish seem to be coming from there. Spoons and Spoon Harnesses have been most effective here.
Geneva, Ashtabula, and Conneaut:
The reports I am getting from here are all extremely similar so I am grouping them together. 70-74 FOW seems to be the ticket, with most fish suspending form 50-57′. Almost exclusively we are hearing of Purple and Orange (if fishing more shallow -40ish feet) spoons being the ticket. The place we would recommend the most would be Ashtabula. Head to the 02 line and troll N/NE in about 71-73 FOW. This has been a go to for our customers for the last 3 weeks and has paid off.
We are also now hearing of perch scattered in all of these areas as well. As many as 20 were being caught after reaching a limit of walleye on Jigging Raps fished about 4′ of of the bottom.
Again, sorry it’s so short but we hope to be back to normal by next week as we get this thing up and running!
