Our normal reports have reduced drastically with the combination effect of the recent heat as well as the amount of pleasure boaters and jet skiers that are out on the water the last 2 weeks. Most of our customers are voicing displeasure with wanting to venture out to any of the area lakes with all of the traffic, especially on the weekends.
-Crappie are still being caught in the evenings near the bridges and found in open water, holding onto deeper structure. Look for fish to be suspended about 10-12 feet in 15-20+ FOW. Over the next week to two weeks, as Berlin gets low, keep in mind the spots near Greenbower and Rockhill bridges tend to hold lots of fish that are trapped in deeper water pools. This spot becomes very popular as the lake gets lower.
-Catfishing has still been excellent throughout the last few weeks. Fish have been caught all over the area with nightcrawlers and Power Bait being the most effective baits over the past couple weeks. Fishing has been good regardless of the time of day.
-Our walleye reports have fallen off significantly with the amount of pleasure boat traffic that has been on the water in not only Berlin, but Lake Milton, and Mosquito as well.
-As our musky selection has grown, so have our reports. This week we have heard of more than 10 musky being caught on West Branch using Bondy Originals and Jrs, as well as quite a few follows and hookups on Red October Monster Tubes. Last week we have heard of a few Musky being caught while trolling Tuff Shads on Lake Milton as well. We plan to continue the Musky reports as information comes our way.
