Walleye- Walleye slowed with the recent storm we had come through a few days ago. Weekends have been more difficult to target them with the additional pleasure boat traffic the lake is seeing. Look for fishing to improve over the next few days as the weather stabilizes. The best technique over the last few weeks has been Flicker Minnow 7s/9s in deeper water targeting depths of 14-18’ in 25-30 FOW.
Crappie- Crappie fishing has been good below the 224 bridge and the railroad bridge in the early morning and into the evening, with fishing improving with floating lights. Jigging Raps, and pin min tipped with maggots/wax worms have been the best methods. Look for submerged trees or structure in deeper water if you are looking to throw jigs for some bigger slab crappie.
Catfish- Catfishing continues to be excellent with all of the warm weather we have had. Most fish are being pulled on nightcrawlers suspended a few feet off the bottom or on nightcrawler harnesses by anglers targeting walleye in deeper water. They have been readily caught from shore and from boats all over Berlin and Walborn.
